As I watch my many hours of 9/11 programming I pray for America. Mostly that we will not depend on ourselves. I pray that we as a nation will together humble ourselves before God so he can HEAL our land and its economy. It hurts to see all the pain we went thru just 10 years ago. It seems like yesterday to me.

9/11 Hit Home For Our Family

We were homeschooling and someone called to tell me to stop everything and turn on the news…the world trade center went down….My oldest dd and I turned and the news and watched the horror as my other kids napped. We prayed for our family’s safety. Then we started calling NYC to see about our cousins. Nothing…just some recording saying the circuits are still full.

Then, around snack time I left the room for a few minutes to get some grapes for snack time. As I stood in the kitchen, I heard my daughter call downstairs, “Mom, the other building fell down too!” I was in disbelief…hoping she…being so young was mistaken. I ran upstairs hoping she misunderstood what she saw on the news but when they re-ran it…I was in shock.

Our cousins worked in the building near by and walked home over the Brooklyn bridge covered in that white stuff. Traumatized.

What was it soot?

I remember trying to call to see if everyone was safe and could NOT get thru because the phone lines were jammed. We kept praying. I tried to explain to my young children why someone would run a plane into a building to hurt people. It made no sense to me so……I did the best I could.

While I am glad is 10 years later. I remember….
