Parenting Encouragement for Today - Perspective
Ok Part 2 of this parenting encouragement actually may seem kind of odd for some people…it may seem counterintuitive
It is something very helpful to help people…
especially parents who feel like they are trying to survive in the day to day…
The Key
The key is….
by taking our eyes OFF our current situation and onto someone else. Someone else in need, someone who needs a hand, someone else in desperate situations….
This really helps me I know…when I feel like complaining about an inconvenience in life like move or conditions that aren’t ideal….
This is from Isaiah 58 starting at verse 7
“Share your food with the hungry,
and give shelter to the homeless.
Give clothes to those who need them,
and do not hide from relatives who need your help.
I think its funny that it tells us NOT to hide from family members who need help….LOL
I guess even back then folks did that =) Ok I’m digressing from the point…sorry =)
8“Then your salvation will come like the dawn,
and your wounds will quickly heal.
Your godliness will lead you forward,
and the glory of the Lord will protect you from behind.
9Then when you call, the Lord will answer.
‘Yes, I am here,’ he will quickly reply
So this help we give even comes with a bonus… a promise,
healing, protection, and answers from God if we help feed to poor and help the homeless. That is good stuff.
The best part is that our kids get to benefit from any of this blessing we choose to do for the hungry and homeless, it is a great learning opportunity.
Most of all it helps us bless others and walk easier in the daily chores you may have from being a parent…
the diapers, wipes, spills, lil snacks, sticky fingers, letter lessons and so on….
The rest of it goes..with more promises.
Feed the hungry,
and help those in trouble.
Then your light will shine out from the darkness,
and the darkness around you will be as bright as noon.
11The Lord will guide you continually,
giving you water when you are dry
and restoring your strength.
You will be like a well-watered garden,
like an ever-flowing spring.
MMmmmm
I think I would be remiss if I didn’t include some charities here….
Let’s think about a few…..or at least one
Iris Ministries helps the children in Mozambique and surrounding nations. Mozambique is one of the world’s poorest nations…if not THE POOREST. appropriately…one of the co-heads of this ministry is “MAMA AIDA” a mother to many adopted orphans there… How she stays sane in the midst of all they do in Mozambique for the orphans there MUST be a gift from God…
Another Clip of this awesome ministry…even shows the children praying for others….
Another good ministry that helps kids is called Mercy ????
Uh oh, what is it called? It is in Haiti….they have been there for many years building orphanages and schools.
Mercy and Sharing.com
This is from their website:
These are organizations that have been on the ground level of the respective countries to HELP. I know it isn’t much money compared to the problem if a few dollars is sent…BUT it does something to the children who have bake sales or whatever PLUS the adults who dig deep into their pockets. It help me and you keep proper perspective when we work together to help others. Like ma used to say “Every lil’ bit counts”
