MOM NEEDS A BEAUTY MAKE-OVER

As a mom of now 6mo twins...I have finally noticed a need for an adjustment....

I would like to gravitate AWAY from FRUMPY if at all possible...

My oldest dds are in need of a mom who at least PRETENDS to care about her looks once in a while=)

Actually this recent escapade started on BLACK FRIDAY. We have a family tradition of joining up with friends in the maddness of Black Friday. We thought it would be a good idea to visit the new ULTA Beauty Supply Store with my dd for fun!

THE BEAUTY MAKEOVER FUNNIES

There are some women I suppose who don't care for GIRLY stores but we loved Ulta Beauty Suppy. It was sooo much fun. In fact I wish I grabbed the lady's name who did the bare Minerals display. She blessed me so much.

I said "I have 6 kids and haven't taken care of my self much in YEARS..." She said, "You have 6 kids????
You come over here and sit right in this chair...I will help you"  OH BOY did she spoil me, take her time and teach my eldest and I some beauty tips and tricks.

The funniest part was the EXPRESSION ON MY DD'S FACE when she first saw the makeover...I guess I had shadow eyes that were dramatic....SOMETHING WE WEREN'T USED TO..and the nice cosmetologist made the mistake of asking her what she thought. My dd's face dropped...then there was a long silence.....I just sat there waiting...

The experienced lady broke the silence, "OK TELL ME...what DON'T you like?" "Well starting with the lipliner... it looks like a clown..." so she fixed up my mouth and didn't ask for any more opinions.

I was just happy to try on foundation that didn't itch to be honest. That issue I remembered from years ago when I wore a full face of make-up. At any rate, as we left because the store was closing I was still buzzing with excitement. I was trilled that the lady reminded me of many beauty tricks from MY FORMER LIFE B.K.

When we saw the make-up in the car out of the store's florescent lights we were astounded. The smokey eyes were a hit!

We have been buzzing about all this ever since. The lady has definately sold merchandise to both my friend and I without even knowing simply because of her care and kindness. I really wish I knew her name.....




MORE TEEN GIRLY FIELD TRIPS = WHAT NOT TO WEAR

I went back again with my other dd and took 4 girls to Ulta Beauty Supply....IT WAS A FUN letting them test colors. What amazed me most is how we really need guidance as a young lady to choose what's best for us... I spent most of my time saying:
 
"NO, THAT COLOR IS NOT FOR YOU" or "RUN AWAY FROM REDS, THEY ARE NOT YOUR FRIEND" and other jokes....

I bought more make-up after an eye make-up session for my dd and a color match for me.
I also found Aveeno Oatmeal soap for my 6mo twins to fight off their eczema to go along with their oatmeal baths...the whole experience took 2+ HOURS...of course it included twin diaper changes, baby bottles- I was NOT going to nurse during our beauty adventure, and babies diving for purfume and brightly colored cosmetics

NOW OF COURSE I HAVE TO DO TONS OF RESEARCH
 
TO decide if I want to part with $ for pricey Bare Minerals....make-up costs alot more than I remember I embarked on some simple research...by accident...Google.
 
Again, while I am not a girly girl.....this whole process is very interesting to me....DID You know THERE ARE OVER 1,300 YOUTUBE.COM videos on Bare Minerals? Incredible....there is a whole world out there and I am still trying to figure out eyelids....

We found many videos that even taughts about different brands, concealer that is even BLUE or GREEN to PUT ON a face!!!
Boy have things changed....

To think we used to just go get a book for tips and tricks.

WOW....

The minerals look inviting BUT.......I'm not sure I'm ready for blue stuff on my face...
