Spc. Alexis Hutchinson - Let's Pray for this mom and soldier

This lady Spc. Alexis Hutchinson  has been on my mind lately...
I think about what I would do...how I would feel...

In case you have never heard of her case..this woman Spc. Alexis Hutchinson, 21, is a single mom and a U.S. Army cook who felt she had no choice but to refuse deployment orders in order to take care of her 10-month-old son.

I could not honestly say I wouldn't do the same.... alexis_hutchinson
I admire her love for her child.

Last night  I dreamed I too was being deployed and had to choose...I realized  she must have felt really horrible and confused  in this situation....

WHAT HAPPENED?

According to Spc. Alexis Hutchinson, the Army forced her to make an agonizing choice between serving her country and taking care of her son. That is tough.

When Spc. Alexis Hutchinson's  unit deployed to Afghanistan earlier in November, she was missing from the plane. Her lawyer said she refused to go because there was no one to take care of her 10-mo son, Kamani, and didn't want him placed in foster care. The Army claims that Spc. Alexis Hutchinson  had plenty of time to sort out family issues and has been confined to her post at Fort Stewart, Georgia, while they investigate this case. The US Army also claims, that  there are issues with Spc. Alexis Hutchinson's story  and she could now be facing serious charges for desertion.

Spc. Alexis Hutchinson did agree to sign a military Form D-A 53-05 plan and her mom, Angelique Hughes, did try to take Kamani in a month before Hutchinson's deployment date. She did know in advance that that if she didn't adhere to the family care plan she could face disciplinary action. But it didn't work out because her mom was also caring for ailing relatives AND a daycare and she couldn't keep up with Hutchinson's son since he understandable is active @ 10-mo. After a 30-day extension, she still didn't feel she had a safe place for her son and skipped the plane she was scheduled to take. She then turned herself in shortly thereafter....

LET'S PRAY FOR Spc. Alexis Hutchinson

Lets all pray for this young mom....I'm not sure exactly how she ended up in this situation but God bless her.

It breaks my heart to see any mom have to leave a young baby. I personally know a single mom who did this to serve in Afghanistan but she had an ex-husband to watch their young, very young children as she served. She was miserable while away but came home safe.

I am not sure I could do that at all.  I read somewhere that many single parents are forced to leave behind their kids and they have to enact their family plans....

I appreciate all that the military does to protect the USA but as a mom I side with Spc. Alexis Hutchinson.
