My Preschooler Adjusting to the Newborn Twins

Baby Picture_27

Well I must say it has been an adjustment for my cutie pie....

When they first came and we were in the hospital it was wild. He was sooooo excited that he was bouncing all around.....
I was so nervous and my hubby was like a mama bear protecting her cubs. Other then the ice tea bottle falling we made it thru. My heart was so heavy because he was being corrected ALL day for all the safety things he did wrong....we HAD TO PROTECT the twins...he looked sad alot and I missed doting on him as my "baby". Afterall he had graduated to BIG BROTHER.

Fortunately he loved the new babies so much that he was mostly happy and didn't seem to take the correction personally.

I was told many times the youngest member o the family kinda regreses when a new babe shows up on the scene. Well it is true. So we had to double up on the "potty training" efforts. Actually I could say we tried to lather him with more attention.

Eventually we got into more a groove when we set up some basic rules

TOP RULES TO HELP MY PRESCHOOLER ADJUST TO THE ARRIVAL OF OUR INFANTS=)

1. Don't WAKE MOM  up if she sneeks a nap in....this was my most important rule..ha,ha
2. Don't jump on the BED....or walk...on move on mom and dads bed if the twins are there...go around to the side where mom says
3. Don't touch the TOP of the babies head.
4. Make sure your hands are washed....but you don't need the WHOLE BOTTLE of liquid soap.
5. When u sneeze make sure u do so into the crook of your arm...not in the baby's FACE!
6. If you have to blow ur nose please use a TISSUE and stop using your shirt.
7. Touch the babies gently and don't LEAN ON them when you want a kiss.
8. Only ONE KISS...not one every 30 seconds.....and if they are ALREADY CRANKY they don't want a kiss this exact moment.
9. Shhhhhh the babies are sleeping. Do not jump and yell when they are resting.
10.Helping mom is awesome...Thank you for being an awesome big brother by helping me......

Once my Preschooler got the hang of these new adjustments it was MUCH MUCH better. My heart still ongs for the days when I could spend hours with JUST HIM because he was my babe but I sing songs to him and do as much as I can. I am veerrrry grateful for my husband who did MUCH of this training in the first 6 weeks while I was recovering....Praise God for Him....
